VX POCKET nightmare
« on: February 01, 2010, 05:56:49 PM »
I have a Toshiba Sattelite and I cannot get a vx pocket to work...I have 2 cards...both have worked on other computers.

The computer "sees" it...but when I send it signal, nada.  I have changed frequencies, etc with zzero luck.   I have a bunch of HQ dat masters I'd love to transfer.

Thanks for any assistance.

try reinstalling the drivers,
or possibly reverting to an older driver that might be more stable

If you get it working, remember to test the hell out of it before you do those xfers.  An IRQ conflict could produce pops or clicks, or even something more subtle...  I've seen cases where hard drive access caused audio hiccups.

i think what he was saying, was you could (if you have one) insert a CF into the 744t, set it to record to HDD & CF
once you finish the transfer, take CF out of the 744
plug into a card reader (USB usually? although they do make PCMCIA>CF adapters)

if any of these options are not possible, you could go and pick up a firewire cable? i think you could find one for <$10
