Quick question re: Sound Forge 10
« on: May 01, 2010, 05:58:56 PM »
Hey guys!
OK, if I get a copy of Sound Forge 10 in addition to working on 2 track masters, can I load in 2 x 2 track time coded info from say an R4 and master those 4 tracks down to 2 tracks?  Also, this program is non-destructive like Vegas right? I have been using Vegas previously but I need a 64 bit capable program and MBIT+ so I'm hoping that SF10 will do everything that I need it to do.  Some of the lingo makes it a bit difficult to tell.  Thanks...

I use Sound Forge 9. I record 4 mono channels (4 mics) with my 744t and mix it down to 2 channels (4 mic mix) or have a 2 channel recording for each set of mics run. Does that answer your question?

Just to add that Soundforge 10 is NOT a 64 bit program like the newer versions of Vegas.   Hopefully that will come with version 11.   32 bit for the time being

^^ can you walk us through the steps here?  I also record 4 mono channels but can't seem to master the mix funciton in SF 10b:  can only open two channel for a stereo mix or 4 channels mono.  Can't figure out how to import the other two channels.  May have to breakdown and read the manual someday ;D
