How was the audio ? Sony concert audio has always been pretty atrocious compared to Panasonic concert audio

I always record audio separately and sync it with my videos, so I don't pay much attention to the camera audio.  Although there was a show earlier this year where I had an audio failure and had nothing but camera audio, and somewhat to my surprise, it turned out OK.

You bet, they really produce decent audio !
if you ever get a chance to listen to the Sony recordings I'd be curious to know if they still sound as bad as they always have with distortion and a generally poor unpleasant SQ.

Personally, no matter how good it sounds, camera audio is not something I consider a viable option.  Because even at its best, camera audio doesn't even begin to compare to audio recorded with good equipment.
