Battery box in the UK
« on: April 17, 2023, 09:03:30 AM »
I recently needed a battery box for my CA-11 mics, but shipping from the US has become quite a bit more expensive than it used to be. I looked into alternatives local to the UK, and I found these:

https://www.jgsound.co.uk/battery-box-bb2/

I've used it once and it appears to be pretty good. It seems to attenuate the signal slightly by 2.3 dB (compared to plugging the mics straight into the recorder) with the high-pass filter off, but it sounds pretty transparent and does output the specified 8.3V (I measured it with a voltmeter). Imho it's a good alternative if you are buying from the UK.

Jonathan was very helpful via email and shipped the battery box the next working day upon payment.
