24bit: V3 > m-audio forewire 410 (or fw audiophile) > lappy
16bit: V3 > xlr to rca > modsbm-1 > jb3/d8

That's me (hello Chris). I originally bought Tim's modSBM after I bought my 4022s because I had a loaner V2 to use for a couple months. I ended up getting a good deal on a V3 so now when I record at 24/96 I run the modSBM out of the analog outs on the V3 as a 16-bit backup. I doubt I would have spent $550 on the modSBM just to use it as a backup but since I already had one it didn't really cost me anything to keep using it. It's saved me a couple times when I had laptop problems at shows.
