hi guys - i use a lexicon U42s interface with my t410 thinkpad. the lexicon interface requires 2.1A, 18W, 9VAC. is there any battery solution to run the lexicon? thanks.

9V AC By default all batteries are DC not AC. SO there are no direct battery options. You could run a battery to power a converter but that whole solution becomes cumbersome and you need a good voltage converter

thanks kirk - sort of what i thought. a small inverter is about $40 - maybe i will look into that with some batttery pack. or maybe just a differnt interface for remote work. thoug most of the usb powered interfaces are only 2 channels and usb 1.1...

If you go the inverter route you should get one that provides a good wave on the conversion so you don't end up with dirty noisy power. And IIRC most inverters are power hogs so you need to run a good sized battery (spec wise not size) As for USB I run a Sound Devices USBPre2 that can be a standalone also. But it is USB 2.0. They used a USB 3.0 jack because of the beefiness. Or how about a Motu Ultralite? It's USB 2.0 & multi channel although I think it is only 2 mic preamps in that.
