What R2R decks should I look for
« on: January 23, 2006, 11:54:30 PM »
My old Akai broke fatally while I was only part way through dubbing my open reels to digital.  Anyone have any suggestions for good decks to look for to finish the project?

My friend will dub the couple really good 1st gens I have at the studio he works at.  The rest are either airchecks or low-fi mono live recordings from the 60s, so there's not much justification for getting an expensive deck, and smaller is better.  Still, I only want to do this project once.  I'm thinking most any Teac or Sony from the 70s will do.
