^Tale of two turntables
« on: November 18, 2019, 12:56:58 PM »
These are two tables that I have been consigned to build. One is somewhat like my Acer 61 but will have a magnetic bearing. The other is a different design using carbon fiber and balsa wood sandwich construction. It has a grey stained maple plinth and is ready for assembly.

Here is the parts list for each table:

New Acer: Magnetic bearing platter
                Origin Live Arm
                 Origin Live motor
Motor Board and Tonearm Board arm both carbon fiber balsa sandwich

Carbon Fiber Table
VPI Platter and bearing. (Delrin and lead)
                 Hurst motor
                 Michell Tecnoarm

This bad boy is almost there.  I just need a few bolts to mount the motor and then it will be set up and off to its new owner!

Here are some shots of the second table. Things are moving along nicely.

Some Static shot of the "Celtic Knot"!   After letting the motor burn in over night, "Wow and Flutter" is down to .05 and speed is spot on. Over the next few days, as I am waiting for the dust cover to come in I will be tweaking the set up. However. as she sits she is sounding mighty fine. The Denon 110 is performing fantastic. It is amazing how much value Denon puts into their cartridges.
