I was sent a neat video that I can't believe. It shows how you can open a 6V akaline lantern battery, and instead of finding dry cell cores hard wired together like they were when I was a kid, today the case is simply a box to hold 32 AA alkaline batteries, with contacts wired together to step up the total voltage, that's it.
So, instead of paying $4 or more for one set of 4 AA alkalines, you only have to pay $6 for a single 6V lantern battery, open it up, and dump out the 32 AAs inside and use them normally. 20 cents per battery is definately not something the battery mfgs would like the general public to know about, I expect.
FYI..............

The video is a hoax.

I heard about this a couple years ago and did it myself except I think my mistake was I got a generic battery so it was four dry cells wired together.
What brand battery did you get?

Too bad it seems to be a hoax............

And don't do like I did. I found some AA batteries at Big Lots really cheap. I took them to a show and every damn one of them was dead.

thanks for posting info informing us its not real. too good to be true.

I think they all have 4 dry cells wired together.
