Pitch Correction Best Practice?
« on: December 10, 2022, 08:37:58 PM »
Just got a bunch of digitizations of 80s cassette recordings, and need to correct pitch.
Changing pitch is straight forward, but establishing proper pitch not so much
.
The method I'm imagining seems non-optimum, hoping for a better method. It would entail:
• Finding a clear solo (keyboard?) note on the recording and isolating it.
• Then comparing its pitch to sheet music chart of the song to establish note value.

Gotta be something better 😀

When I've done this, I've usually compared the live song to the studio version. (Assuming the studio version is in the same key.)
