Title: Hobbico Accu-Cycle Elite...Any experience?
Post by: loud noises on October 01, 2008, 03:31:04 PM
Here are the specs: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEYD4&P=ML

Some newb questions if you don't mind helping me out  ???...

I have a 7.2v 3800mAH Tenergy battery pack which has a tamiya connector on it. But is "tamiya connector" the industry standard or is there another way to say that?
I have seen:
Connectors to go from the charger to the battery or radio:
          HCAP0101....FUTABA J Tx/Rx LEADS ALL RADIOS EXCEPT 9VAP
          HCAP0102....FUTABA J Tx/Rx LEADS 9VAP ONLY
          HCAP0105....JR Tx/Rx LEADS
          HCAP0106....HITEC Tx/Rx LEADS
HCAP0108....CHARGE LEADS, BANANA PLUGS TO ALLIGATOR CLIPS
HCAP0110....Tx BATTERY WITH 9V CONNECTOR, FUTABA J Rx CHARGE LEAD
          HCAP0310....BANANA PLUGS ONLY (3 PAIR)
I'm not sure which connectors I would need to buy with the charger to connect my battery packs to it.

Also:

This cycler is $120...is it necessary? A discharger is def. necessary for me because the battery life on these hardly-used packs is only 30-45minutes on a full charge.
I have the Tenergy Smart Charger that came with my batteries (Linked below). Do I just need a discharger while continuing to use my Smart charger for charging or
should I just go ahead and buy the charger/discharger in one? Is there a cheaper cycler that would work with my 3800mah pack?

Is there a difference between a discharger and a cycler? Is a cycler just a charger/discharger combined?

I'm getting sick and tired of having a "mobile" rig and yet looking for the wall outlet every chance I get. :banging head:
+T in advance!
