Title: manfrotto mono-pod extension and clamp
Post by: Jhurlbs81 on July 06, 2015, 09:31:07 AM
Hey All-

I sold my manfrotto extension pole and clamp I used for small footprint taping by clamping to chair arms.  I need to find them again as I need that set up for a show coming up in a couple weeks.  Can anyone help with the model numbers of the manfrotto and clamp?  I need about 5-6' on the extension pole.

Jesse

It's the Manfrotto 099b for the pole & I use the Matthews clamp instead of a super clamp. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=161307&gclid=CNTJsqWHx8YCFc0WHwod9tUBdA&is=REG&m=Y&A=details&Q=

$30

Add impact super clamp and a 3/8 inch adapter to the top.  Maybe $60

I use the Mathews baby stand as well but its a little short on most arms, I have an umbrella holder that I use on top of the clamp in-between the stand to adjust for vertical, it also adds some height.

Jesse, if you're going to UM in Boston just run on my stand, no worries.

I need that Matthews clamp MUCH more versatile than than the superclamp IMO

I haven't used my Mathew's much so far but the three venues I have used it in have been perfect. It fits the arm rest better than a super clamp & gets a good grip without damage so I've been pleased.

I purchased the baby stand as well, it goes to about 6' tall depending on the arm height, I used it for my yet to be released TTB show from Dayton the other week (I am 6'4/6'5 tall), this worked super well for this application/recording.

To use a superclamp on a chair arm rest do you need the wedge insert? I'm thinking I will...

Anyone have any clever ideas for improvising one?  I will buy some replacements, but need this for Thursday..

Anything from B&H or Adorama arrives in a day or two from NY to my place in NH.

Center jaw is the one to get, you can order an extension to use the clamp over wider spans when needed. I posted in the TSKB demonstrating this.
