Title: Miktek C5s for live taping
Post by: caryhorner on April 22, 2016, 06:51:06 PM
Anyone using Miktek C5s for live taping? I've been a studio guy most of my life and always wanted my own two track taping rig but was always blowing my money on other studio gear instead :) I've got a pair of these and I love them for close miking acoustic sources but what kind of results are any of you guys getting in a live setting? I figure most of my taping will be outdoor festival type stuff so I'm not too worried about room reflections and such. I just want good, clear, detailed, high headroom, low noise sound and I feel like these might just be the ticket (that and I already own them so I don't have to shell out anything extra for mics in a new rig!).

Yeah, user 404 Not Found. He may have some samples on the LMA. https://archive.org/bookmarks/Adam%20Axel

I honestly love the Miktek C5's and have had great results!

We also have used these as overheads for drums when doing mic work for a club in the Philly area.

Here are some samples of the C5's from recordings that are not up on LMA, as I really have not uploaded all that much.  These have indoor and mostly outdoor samples:  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/va1r5hg53ggev8o/AABsoti9YVk6x32JZtzfG_Aga?dl=0
