Title: stealthing at the paradise, boston
Post by: 1st set only on June 25, 2004, 12:02:44 PM
hey all,
i want to record tonights angelique akijo and femi kuti's show tonight at the paradise in boston.
i have stalthed there many a time with my mini mics but i wanna bust out my oktavas for this one.
my thought is to put the mics mounted on a tbar inside one of those rastafarian hats and gaffer tape it to the rail upstairs
my question is is the rail a flat board or is it curved? I think it is flat...

The rail itself that sticks up? Not sure. But the drink ledge behind it is flat - I've rested my deck on it a few times. Not much of a drink ledge if it's curved. ;) Looking at the rail from the side: [begin shitty ASCII rendition]

No prob. Though I just remembered that the top of the rail itself is slanted. So you can't put your drink on the edge, just on the ledge (probably to avoid it falling on the bartender below...heh).
