How do you find the serial number(s) on your bodies & caps?

Mic D's recent misfortune has given me a new urge to document my gear...

I don't know if they ARE numbered. I seem to recall making a half-ass attempt to find them at one point, to no avail.

Yeah, I looked over the bodies & caps last night and didn't see anything obvious.

Maybe its something to call/email AKG about?

Here's the response I got from AKG regarding serial numbers on the bluelines -

Hi Al,

we do not attach serial numbers top the blue line series microphones.
You will find serial numbers on the ULS Series or the C 414 or other more expensive mikes.
