AKG A61 swivel gone bad?
« on: October 17, 2007, 10:34:37 AM »
Anyone know what might cause this? Tried 4 different bodies/caps and no signal passes thru. Found some pics in this thread and it looks like only one wire passes thru it. http://taperssection.com/index.php?action=search2.

Emailed Richard Land of Land Audio and he says they are not repairable. They need to be replaced. He gave no further explanation. Although it does seem like some parts can get destroyed, small metal caps on either side of the joint, while taking it apart and maybe AKG does not want to deal with that. I dunno.

Obviously, this is not the one I have in the yard. That one works fine. http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,92838.msg1236187.html#msg1236187.

if you dont mind a little cosmetic dig (maybe), send it to me and i'll see if I can't fix it.  I've had them all apart before.  must be a busted wire or solder joint.
