Anyone know a good place to get an infinity rs1 speaker fixed in the dc area?  Trustworthy place?

i dont, however there are a couple of places i would call.

First of all, I know this may sound somewhat odd- call Myer-Emco.  Their tech department is really damn good actually.  Also JS Audio in Bethesda knows some great people.  These are the two that pop into my head right now.  Otherwise sending it back to infinity might be one of your best options

Thanks, it seems to be cheaper to just replace the whole speaker than get it repaired.

Whats wrong with the speaker?  You can order replacement drivers from Infinity.

I don't know terminology, but the connector on the back for the wire, the metal threaded jobber, binding maybe?  Well, it snapped right in half.

if you have some soldering skills, depending on the build of the cabinet, its something you might be able to do yourself.
