Team,
I was able to get a Tascam DR-100 MK2 for a great price. It was missing the back battery plate which i was able to get from Tascam but they no longer have the digital input cable for this unit. Does anyone have an old one hanging around ? Would love to pair this with my new V3.
Thank you
Steve

Are you looking for an standard SPDIF cable? (V3 digi out can use SPDIF or AES iirc) Which termination does the Tascam require?

So Rock that's the weird thing. It uses like a 2.5 mm mini jack. Dumbest thing ever. I believe its something like this but i have never seen one.
Thank you

Correct, I purchased the unit off ebay and it was missing the cable. If anyone could help that would be great.

so what is needed is a stereo 2.5 mm to
SPDIF female RCA. but in that thread linked above digigal writes:
Tascam was stupid to make a proprietary connector/adapter cable for the digital in on this deck.
soooooooo, i guess you need an original one from ebay or such. yuk

I used to have 10 or more as I bought a bunch on eBay. Sold the MKII and bought the MKIII a while ago. I gave most away, but I found one. It's yours if you PM me your address.

I went to check on our DR100-MkII and MkIII cables (and charge the batteries). For the record, my never-used MkII cable is a 2.5mm TRRS to RCA, with shield to sleeve and signal to the lower ring. NC to tip or upper ring. The owner's manual states the digital input jack is TRS. I have not tried to figure out if the jack is really TRS and they just supplied a cable plug that works, but happens to be TRRS. A TS plug might not work.
My never-used MkIII digital input cable is 3.5mm TS to RCA, wired normally, although the manual says the input jack is TRS.

Correct the mk2 is 2.5mm and the mk3 is 3.5 mm.
Thank you
