Targus Rakgear backpacks
« on: August 11, 2010, 02:11:24 PM »
Thanks to all who responded to my earlier post about backpacks.   It seemed most recommended the Rakgear Deluxe for use on a bike... The problem is, that model doesn't seem to exist anymore...

Searches on Amazon and eBay turned up a couple others that look like they may work:

That first one, the "Slam" seems like the best, but does anyone have any thoughts who has bought one recently?

Rig is any combo of the stuff in my sig... so not the most enormous out there, but I definitely need room for stuff.

In the post that you created someone linked to a rackgear on ebay. I bought that for about $10 and I am surprised by how comfortable it is with a lot of gear in it. Search on ebay for something before dropping $40-50. This is coming from someone who has used ebay about 5 times EVER. the bag is brand new and nice as hell.
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

I've got a Rakgear backpack.  With a V3, R4, 3 DVD batteries, every cable and adapter known to man, and 414's or ADK's, it barely fits, but that is a LOT of stuff.  I'm guessing you can get away with something a bit smaller.
