from the item description:

This Is Flexable 12 Gauge Blue Wire.
It Is Made Up Of 19 Individually Silver Plated Copper  Strands with Teflon Insulation

you'll have to use three pieces for a balanced mic cable; hot, ground and neutral; so any weight/size advantages of milspec spc you might have enjoyed will be lost

It would probably make nice speaker wire.  I've made speaker cables using this 12ga single conductor cable stock, put into a single techflex housing to make a 2cond pair for speaker cable.

Far too large at 12ga to use as mic cables or even interconnects, even if you found a 2cond plus shield variety.  For mic cables and ICs, you want to find something on the order of 20ga to 24ga.

Is the 12GA a issue of the cable being to large to fit connector's ( XLR, RCA, 1/4, etc ) or just a issue of not be practical / portable to carry around?

I guess what I'm asking does the size of the cable impact the sound?
