Intermittent...one preamp body on occasion would have a spike (& sometimes not for a show but would be back eventually)...then go back to normal...on Nick’s Colette caps were fine for years...Then one cap started acting up.

At least that’s the conclusion I made. If they come back with a clean bill of health, I‘ll continue to trouble shoot. The caps are very early M20’s so it was time for a checkup. Also I wanted to replace the protective metal screen in front of the cap...they were mashed when I got them.

Does anyone know what volts are on the original M70 and M94 capsules?I've got one pair of each.  Looking to build an Active Franken Rig.
This is one of many projects I've got on the go.No recording now, so now I have time to do crazy stuff.
Tools of the trade: Hot melt glue, epoxy, gaffers tape, soldering iron, ........ , insert more here.
Please DO NOT mail me with tech questions.  I will try to answer in the forums when I get a chance.  Thanks.

Sample recordings at: http://www.soundmann.com.

Hallelujah...my sweet Gefell's are back home...Shipped out April first and returned August Twenty Seventh...Caps have some markings I don't recall..appears as a glossy wear or mashing down of the satin Nickel surface of which the same is not visible on the body...screens were mashed into the cap membrane and caused sonic issues in the report...possible that marking is related to pressing a new screen into the cap housing as they were replaced.

The mashed screens were present when I purchased them in the yard,
