As part of my perusing recordings and getting in touch with my sound preferences, I've come to find a preference for sub-cardioids. While I'm still a long ways away from my first microphone purchases, I'm wondering if there are any relatively affordable sub-cards on the market. From what I've come across to date the sub-cards are all much higher end price-wise.
Thoughts?
edit: left out that my theoretically future budget would be around $200-300

Thanks y'all. Now to find some pulls to see what kind of quality I'd be looking at.

Thanks!
I'll move further talk on the LA CA3s to that team board.

Peluso sub cards are the best on the market until you get to the high end. A perfect blend of clarity and warmth.
I already had Peluso CEMC mics so getting a new pair of caps only cost me $190.
I just got a pair of MBHO KA300 wide cardioid capsules and they may not be classified by some folks as "affordable" since that is a pretty loose term but I got a brand new pair of capsules and the active setup to run them for less than $900. I call that affordable for what I get. My first go with them - https://archive.org/details/matis2018-03-02.mbho.ka300.flac (https://archive.org/details/matis2018-03-02.mbho.ka300.flac)

I would also recommend the Line Audio CM3 subcards! I've never had a pair personally, but I've heard countless Recordings of them and really like their sound! For under $300/Shipped, doesn't get much more affordable than that IMO :)

In that price range, Line Audio cm3 hands down. Just be aware that unlike many higher-priced subcards, the low end response on the cm3 is a bit rolled off. I think it's an advantage for bass-heavy PA mixes. I used to apply EQ or multi-band compression on a lot of my recordings made with Schoeps mk21 to tame the LF. If the LF is too thin, you can always boost with some EQ.

Been hovering around $360-$400 these days, Bean. I've been looking for a pair of used, reasonably priced ones but haven't had any luck as yet.

Damn things are tiny too. About half the size of my AT4041's
