Audiophile 192 digi coax->receiver
« on: December 18, 2005, 11:05:56 PM »
I have an M-Audio Audiophile 192, which has SPDIF coax in & out, as well as the usual mess of cables with midi and trs in/out.

I'm trying to run the digi coax out into my receiver, to use my JBL S38s as monitors for the time being.  My receiver is a Technics SA-DX1050, and for some reason I can't get the damn digital coax to work.  It may be something totally stupid I'm not doing, but I feel like I've tried everything.  If anyone can be of any help, please let me know.

Mike.

I have an older Technics for my ht setup, make sure you're turning the dial to select a digital source.  Also make sure you're sending a signal out of the Audiophile 192, you might have to change a setting in the control panel for the soundcard.
Maybe a couple of small scratches, but thats because these mics are chick magnets.
Girls always up on Andy tryin to grab these mics, the scratches are from their wedding rings.

yea, I have it set up so that my 200 disc CD changer is on the analog connection, optical 1 is for DVD, optical 2 can run on the CD digital input, and the digital coax is set up for the TV input.  So, when i turn the knob to TV, the digital input lights up.  I know that is set up right.  As far as the sound card, the M-Audio control panel shows me that there is sound being processed, tho it says Wav Out 1/2, and I would think it would say Wav Out SPDIF.  the master control is grey'd out and I cant control that.  As far as switching it to the SPDIF from 1/2 (which i assume to be the TRS connection) I have no clue how to do that.  I've been thru all of hte options in there, and the Patchbay/Router tab says Wav Out S/PDIF, so i cant figure why there would be an issue.  I emailed M-Audio support to see if someone can help me out with the issue.  Otherwise I'm about to just buy a pair of Fostex powered monitors and say screw it.

Thanks for hte reply.

OK, so that was easy enough, and now I feel like a retard.

within windows control panel, I just had to change the output for the M-Audio card.
