I agree - a new product that isn't based on 32 fp is surprising in today's market, but it being only 16 bit is an interesting choice, especially for the price of the mic and the receiver. Onboard recording would have been wonderful.
I have the model in between yours and this one - mv88+. I also like the versatility, but the short lightening to usb cable means you have to have your phone nearby.
Here's a sweetwater promo video with a Shure rep of some kind. It is kinda neat just having the mic in between them and the audio recording to the phone, but as I said earlier, there's a lot of less expensive options to do that now.
Of course those options don't allow you to change to polar pattern.
