hello people,

i recently got my hands on a sony d-8 for free,which i understand is a decent machine.but should i consider a microtrack,or hi-md.i was even considering going for a pcm-m1,
which i might be able to get at a reasonable price.ill be recording hard rock shows mostly in stealth.also what settings should i set the rec.levels for a loud hard pumping show?

thanks for any help.

it the D8 works, keep it and use it until it goes bad.

it depends on the mics and pre-amp that you use.

there is a ton of info out there... for stealth mics, you obviously want something small but nice...

the first thing to figure out is how much you can spend on something... then go here...

search for descriptions of mics, anything small is stealthable.  ask if you have more questions.
