Look at me, home on a saturday night trolling the board.
Wooo!
OK. Preparing for a 3-week taping stretch.
I've just picked up a nice extra from zeus163:
http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=114846.0I've never had one of these with the coax out before.
I've always been trapped with the 5 inch 7pin tail on my previous SBM-1, but this gives me a few more options for the length of cable between the 2 units.
I scoured the boards to see what kind of options I had for cables until I found this:
http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=108925.0unfortunately a year old post, but since the consensus is that DAT is almost dead and you guys are riddled with DAT knowledge, I'm sure someone here either has the cable solution sitting around and wants to get rid of it or has a better idea than me.
With what I currently have sitting around, I can do this (see image), but that kind of leaves an iffy 'bump' in the middle of my connection. But it IS an easy one to secure with a loop. I still think there must be a better, smoother way to connect the coax out to something that terminates in a solid 7pin male.
Looking at options, it seems really what would be good would be 7pin > 7pin and about 2' inbetween, but that just doesn't exist. I can make one (see pic 2), but that involves 2 rather annoying connections in the cable.
What would you guys do?
(besides the obvious, of NOT connecting these 2 units and running a different system altogether.)
Thanks Again,
jb
