Title: this turned out real nice / Canon HV40 via an Audio Technica AT822
Post by: s1rrah on October 17, 2010, 01:20:01 PM

Cam: Canon HV40
Audio: (external) Audio Technica AT822 patched in to a Zoom H4N
Venue: Rudyards Pub (Houston TX) (room being about 30 x. 50 feet; very small)
Band: Ancient Cat Society

(the audio is 100% unaffected, no EQ, no levels, no nothing; just as it sounded (I've already sent .FLACs to the band). ) FYI.

(how the hell do you post vids on this forum, anyway?)

LOL.

Sound and video quality are pretty good.  I don't know the camera, but I think you've made good use of the gear.

Don't like all the scene changes/fades.  Just makes me dizzy.  Less is more for me.

And what's with all that ghetto (geek?) text at the end?

0h! That is the best thing I'v3 h3ard all W33k!

;)

Geek text? It's an old stand by of mine. I came up in the hack/BBS/2600 days (back when all we had was telnet and gopher!) >LOL< ....

Anyway, Richard, your comment really makes me happy.

Also, I appreciate your sincerity and the fact that you thought we did good with the gear at hand. Cause, really? We didn't even know we were going to shoot that night. LOL. We just showed up with our equipment and *then* started asking for permission.

dANKA mate~!

the vid and audio is quite nice!
but all that wired text is a bit strange
otherwise - it's nice work
profanity and talking about making babies is just wired with that  song
loose the text

I agree. Following edits lost it (other songs). Thanks for the comment.

BTW: here's how the later edits went (I took your suggestions in stride, BTW ... think it makes for a better presentation):

Hey,  Is this whole show available for down loading? It sounds great. I really like the first link, Mary Francis, a lot. I could listen to that for hours. Sounds so good to these ears

I haven't separated out the individual tracks/.flac because the band wasn't really interested. I can put up .flacs if your interested, though ... lemme know.

Oh yes, please. If it's not too much work. I'd love to have it. Same source as what fed the camera?

No worries ... I've got the .flacs already separated from back when I was editing for them. And yes, the source is the same that was used in the vid edit, an Audiotechnica AT822 inputted to a Zoom H4N.

I'll put 'em up somewhere in the next day or two and will post a link here.

Best.
