The Trey Indy phase (http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=48328.0) thread reminded me about a suggestion some guy at RG made while I was setting up my C414s. He suggested a coincident setup of:
mic 1 = card facing forward
mic 2 = omni, but "flip the switch on your preamp to invert its phase"
I explained that I had other plans for configs (XY cards and Blumlein), and didn't have a phase inversion switch to do so, anyway. The reason for posting: anyone ever heard of doing something like this? Tried it? It just seemed bizarre to me and I honestly didn't give the suggestion the time of day.
