I must've misinterpreted these comments.

Although with all the talk of DFC not always being the sweet spot, it could be argued that DFC being always the best is somewhat of a fallacy.

To bad most of us tapers don't know the scientific equation that always equals sweet spot.

Anyone ever notice how some tapers are *very* generous when describing their recording location as DFC?  I've seen people describe their location as DFC when they're 20' off-center in a medium sized venue! 

I've gone so far as to list my spot as 12" or 18" ROC - if I can hear and see that it's not truly DFC, then I make sho to be ackerate.

while you can get the theoretically sweet spot using the equilateral triangle method it is all theoretical. As many have said previously in this thread actual image center is not always physical center.

I've had some interesting experiences with dfc not necessarily being image center. I ran about 2 feet roc for mc5 and seemed to get a nicer image than stepping into dfc, a little boom and less detail there. Not the first time I've noticed that for sure.

personally, I use the 2 foot rule,  I don't list sources as 18" LOC.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't FOB simply mean "Front of Board?"

Ok, makes sense.  But in every other situation it's simply front of board, right?
