Keep in mind that many tapers use these terms loosely. For example, FOB (Front of Board). In some venues, the whole venue is FOB, so noting the recording as "FOB" doesn't tell the user much of anything. In other venues, the board is waaaaaay the hell back, a loooooong ways from the stage, so FOB doesn't tell you much. Similar with DFC. I've seen tapers label their recordings "DFC" when they're ~15' off center in a venue that's only 40' wide. In other words, take 'em - especially those two - with a grain of salt.
The mic configurations, like XY, MS, DIN, DINA, ORTF, NOS, AB, are worth learning, and trying, as a reference point. Then based on what you find, tweak your mic configurations as necessary for the specific recording scenario in which you find yourself. This takes time, so have fun while you're doing it.
