Title: my new toy Urei/JBL 7510A 24 track mixer (with direct outputs)
Post by: cleantone on June 11, 2007, 02:31:31 PM
It might be a bit of a risk since these units are from the early 80's. I've heard they compare with a lot of really high end preamps. I won the bid this afternoon. Hope to be testing it out by next weekend. Can't wait to hear it on drums. Can't wait to hear it on basses and guitars too actually... ;) The gates are supposed to be really fast and usable. That might be cool for toms and stuff actually. I'll likely never use it as a mixer but it is good to know that I could if I wanted. I can seem myself using it to combine mono instruments that are never played at the same time onto on track. That could free up a lot of tracks on the recorder. Anyone have any info on these? I have scoured the web and found all too little. A lot of it good though. Hope my unit is equivalent.
