If you go with CD-Wave, you'll want to get it directly from the
CD-Wave webpage, as the etree page is out of date. Please note that CD-Wave is shareware, not freeware. You're required to purchase a license if you use it beyond the 31-day trial period, though the software will not cripple itself if you do not. If all you want to do is track, it's a great program, and cheap at only $15 for a license.
You could also track using whichever audio editor you prefer: Audacity (free), Samplitude SE ($50), WaveLab ($$$), SoundForge ($$$), Adobe Audition ($$$), etc.
