Topic: Help with my rig (levels aren't moving)

I just set everything up for the first time. akg 391's> akg b18's>AD-20>JB3.
No levels moving on the jb3, I know that both b18's are powered because the green test light is coming on. I'm also sure the ad-20 is getting power. Any ideas? I am powering by plain old 9 volts in both B18's and AD-20.

put your headphones in the jb3, can you hear anything?  It is really difficult to get levels that are close to field levels at home.

I got nothing when I put the headphones in, I've just got the tv going to see if the levels move.

try putting your rig set up in a nother room, close the door with the cables leading to your gear in the hallway and crank the tv up or stereo up as loud as you can in the other room....and crank up the AD-20 so you are increasing the gain as much as possible....
