H120 corrupted file after running out of memory
« on: May 28, 2011, 01:54:57 AM »
Not sure how what happened, I've never run out of memory while recording (its with the CF mod) but when I went to stop it after the set was over there was a strange message I'd never seen before that I didn't actually get to read, I pressed stop and it went away back to the main menu.  When I went to open it in audacity (I'm on a mac) it said it couldn't read it, so I tired to just transfer it to my desktop but got a message like "can't finish the operation because some of the data can't be read or written."  The computer reads it as a .wav file but gives it a different icon than the .wav from the second set that can be read.

Well, I'm now thinking I should maybe put this in the computer forum, but as it began on the recorder end, does anyone know anything about what the iRiver does to files when it runs out of memory?  It definitely seems like it messed up the file.
