I wanted to play w/my 4061s, so I built a nice disc for them out of a bunch of household junk and a quick trip to mardens.
started w/a 10' pie plate, padded w/around 1/2" of foam stuffing.
then, I cut two circles and the edge trim out of a new, and very thick/frizzy toilet seat cover!!
its crapa-lackin' !
I cut a whole in the outer rim of the pie pan (drilled it out), so that a sabra shock mount arm could slide in tightly and hold the disc.
I then used contact spray glue (strong stuff!) to attache the carpet to each side and the edge. There is a center whole about 1/2", just in case..but I dont use it.
Next up was a pre-hacked SoundPro T bar that they sell for the 853s and other small mics. This is held onto the Sabra w/some zipties. it allows me to move the mics all around, or spaced if necessary.
not bad for spare parts and $9 at mardens!
I'll fly it tomorrow for Mule/ABB in NH and see how it sounds.
