The Lowly Dynamic Microphone...Part 2
« on: November 23, 2004, 11:57:41 PM »
Following through on my threat to run some dynamic mics...i.e.

Here are few samples from the other night...

Sample A uses my TASCAM PE-120s - basically a NAK300...

Sample B uses my Realistic Dual Response Dynamic Cardioids - basically an old Shure SM53

Sorry I was unable to record both sources simutaneously for a true A B comparison. However, these both use the same front end:

Mics (A/B DFC @ 20 feet -just vocals in PA) > Yamaha MG10/2 mixer > Flying Calf AD > CO2 > JB3

I think you'll get the idea...

I'm really tempted to run them together. They both have elements that I like...the mid color in the dynamic source is pretty nice...they sounded better than I expected...
