Why do I get the feeling he has better playback than me?

Look how small the T.V. looks....

Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

How are these?

http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/5738/leftspeakersy1.jpg

This is what I listen to all the time as they are in my living room and they're only 8' high.
AKG C4000 > P-mod UA-5 > NJB3 (48KHz) > SVU-2
DPA 4061 (x1, hat mounted) > MPS 6010 > P-mod UA-5 >  NJB3 (48KHz)

Looking for another 4061 or even a pair of 406x mics to replace my single.  Please help me stealth in stereo.

+T for a pic of big speakers from your own setup!

Those things are very...well large...what kind are they?

And another question, from that picture up a few posts, what the hell is that big horn thing coming out from behind the speakers????? ???

Those speakers would be Acoustat 2+2.  No longer made but sound amazing.  They are electrostatic speakers and you can read about that type here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrostatic_speaker

And ignore the disadvantages section when it comes to mine.  The 2+2's are a full range speaker and give off plenty off bass.

I originally was looking for this particular brand but not this particular model.  A friend of a friend's just happened to be downsizing and I couldn't pass up the great deal on them.

I thought they looked like SoundLab.  I have the smaller (5' tall) Pristines and love them.  Top of the line and great sound.  I am very fond of electrostatics for purity of sound.  SL has a pretty good bottom end.  If you have had the good fortune to listen to acoustic music you find it does not shake the house unless it is pipe organ,  So, SL is entirely appropriate for me.  As usual, YMMV   8)
