Oh yeah very nice choice there.....i'd love to get a RAW sample of some of the 50mbps footage you get with it.Tons of custom picture profile settings for custom looks and Focus peaking makes it way easier for critical focus.NICE!
I don't know if you've read this but there are some good info and custom picrure profile recipes in here.Good Luck.

Ya the peaking thing was new to me. It's cool as hell. Heading out tomorrow to shoot Martha Scanlan. Excited to see some 50 mb footage myself. I'm just curious if I can get a follow focus setup for this. I prefer that style to the ring. But dang, HDD's will fill up fast! 16 GB=80 min!!

Mark,
Congrats!
looks like a sweet new toy!

Looks awesome Mark ;D

Sweet.
Dig the either cell phone or 10 year old digital camera picture of a $3000 camera. :P
I wish I had more time to experiment with video. Sadly I'd probably never or rarely watch the finished product, but it would be fun to put a nice concert video together. I miss video editing sometimes.

Damn this cam is just impressive. Watch in full screen at 1080 and then realize you are watching it on youtube. That is all.

damn, that's pretty impressive.
Was that your mic, or did you just take a feed?
What is the camera model #?
-
It was just a XLR soundboard feed into the cam. I didn't even audio record. A first for me. Model is the Canon XF-100. I don't currently have a mic for the cam. Just the built in. I usually just plug a line out of my 744. But I do want one for the look to be honest.
