Title: Want to start taping...complete nOOb...What do I need?

I want to start taping when I get my tax refund.  I was leaning on getting the JB3 (don't know much about it, just that it tapes) 40 gig drive.  Should I wait, is something better coming out.  I know I need mics, what should I get (not rich, but I would like good mics).  What else did I need, like I said total nOOb.

Good place to start - check the Archival Info forum, at the top of which you'll find a newbie thread.

Disco20, you should be able to find a refurb JB3 20gig hd on eabay, as well.
