Where can I buy it in a store today as opposed to online? What type of store... a music shop? Thanks!

It's pretty pricy though - the only place that has it where I live is a camera store and it's about $20 a roll. I haven't found it much cheaper online and I like supporting local places when I can, so not a bad deal - just way more than duct tape.

I get it for $16 a roll down the street. I love this town.

how much better is it than duct tape? at the moment I just use black duct tape from Home Depot (6 bucks a roll). if its a ton better, hell, might pick some up for the extra 6 bucks (plus shipping).
I think a roll of duct tape lasted me like just over a year...

it depends on what you use it for.  The only thing I use "tape" for is taping my stand down to the ground, or seats in amphitheatres/arenas.  These are dingy bars and dirty amps, so leaving a bit of residue is no big deal.  However, if I was using the tape to secure cables, or in nice venues, gaffers would have a great benefit...

i use tape like crazy on my gear. switches can get switched, knobs can get turned, lights can be seen, 7-pin heads can get janky... black gaffer's it is.

I do to....electrical tape though works great, doesnt leave residue from my experience if I put it on that day and take it off when I get home from the stealthing activity....

i used to use electrical tape, too. but it got shit all over my gear and it's elastic...
it is useful for carrying in, though. goodness knows you can't stealth in a full roll of gaff!

I keep an entire side of the mp2 covered with gaffers when I go in to stealth b/c I never know when I might need it. I've used it more often than not. No residue = happy gear and happy taper.
Out of the game … for now?
