Title: Heat while running 744T in Petrol bag
Post by: Carrera2 on July 20, 2008, 04:55:24 PM
I ran my 744T recording to both HD and CF for three sessions the other day. Two hour and one half sessions with about 20 minutes of downtime and then a two hour session about 20 minutes after the second session.

The 744T was supported by two of the vertical dividers in a Petrol bag, flush against them. I was surprised at how hot the exterior panels of the recorder were after the two hour session.

Is this usual? Is it harmful? Will I need to modify the Petrol bag to allow more ventilation? Any other advice on how to run in a Petrol bag?

edit: [the room was air conditioned and probably 78 degrees F +/- 2 degrees.]
