JB3 freezing up help
« on: March 31, 2007, 01:56:07 PM »
Hello all,

My JB3 has froze up on me 2 times. The first was a little over a month ago, after it happen i reformatted the hard drive and it didnt happen again until last night.  Both times it happened around the 45 min mark of the second set, and the jb3 was in a total freeze, had to pull out the batterie to turn it off.  After turning it back on it recorded fine for the rest of the show, anyone know what the problem could be?
                 Thanks,
                      Kenny

Sounds like a heat related issue. Were you running in a bag? Did the unit feel warmer than usual?

the second time it happened it was in a bag, the first time it was sitting beside the bag on a seat, it didnt seem hot, but i guess it could be that, I run a mini-mp and it gets warm.  The jb3 sits in a compartment that would have it up against the mp, so maybe thats it.  I plan on taping a few things this week, ill see what happens, it might just be time to move on to something else, and pull the DAT back out for a backup until then.  Thanks for the reply
