that's a good alternative to the nbox.  good thing about the nbox is u get cables & nbox for about what you'd pay for the lemosax.  just some food for thought ;)

This is true!  The N-Box is definitely the less-expensive option.  F-ing Schoeps and their damn expensive cables.

awesome! hadn't seen one in person.

how much do one of these boxes run? and how are they powered?

mk4/nbox/modsbm-1 would make a sweet stealth rig...

There's at least one recording up on archive.org with a similar setup: MK4 > NBox > D100.  Download a few tracks and give it a listen.

Nah, I just picked a handful at random, don't really have any specific track recommendations.

>>however if you want to be stealth taping NOW, with a design that's been proving itself since 1990 and that is smaller than any other portable pre out there<<

it's not smaller :)

taping what?

sci, bisco, smaller jazz acts,... nothing unusual.

I'm not too familiar with the AD2k, but from what he told me it sounded like the Nbox put the levels inbetween the low and high sensitivity settings of the AD2k.  With the AD2k set low, levels were too low.  With the AD2k set high, levels went over.  Something like that.
