No.  Since what gets modified in the CM300 is effectively the same part as the CP4, you'd have to mod the guns the same way.  And since mounting the gun requires a decent amount of grip, I'm not sure that you'd be able to do so and not affect the capsule's ability to function as designed.  Besides, the mod was an attempt at making the mic smaller for lower profile applications... not sure you'd have to worry about that if your choice of mic was the shotgun.

So what, specifically, is the difference between the Franken Naks I got from you OCanis, and the mod that Busman does?

The Bushman and the Franken Naks mod is just a matter of reducing the size of the microphones and power them from an external battery? Just like this,  http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,103715.0.html . The schematic is here:

You should keep your cables short after such a modification, as the output impedance goes up. The balanced output will also be gone (not important if you run short cables). There are several other ways to improve the performance of these microphones. One of the best source is Scott Wurcer. His Chargeamp raises the output to more comfortable levels, especially for those who have poor mic preamps.

There is essentailly no difference electronics wise. the temination is different now. I use a mini XLR installed in the capsule to allow the cables to detach. I also use van den Hul internal wiring in  these now with this mod. You will have plenty of gain like this you just need to supply them with 9v each or close to it. The cable length I have used is up to 15 feet with no problems with signal degredation.

Busman mics of all kinds>some type of busman modified recorder.

so these would be better ran with a UA5 and phantom adapters? a church 9100 pre would not work with these, or would the capability of the mic be degraded recieving less power?  thanks.  oh and email your way chris.
