I'm not so sure about this.

I *think* it is;
pin 1: ground
pin 2: audio
pin 3: battery

Note that pins on the minXLR go *in order* 1, 2, 3 around the connector, while regular XLR goes 1, 3, 2.

If in doubt, unscrew the miniXLR and look inside.  On AT853 you'll see red = battery = pin 3, yellow = audio = pin 2, shield = ground = pin 1.
A small number of AT gear has yellow replaced by white.

Please DO NOT mail me with tech questions.  I will try to answer in the forums when I get a chance.  Thanks.

I'm about 90% sure I have two sets of mini-XLR wired AT933s (853) that are wired differently, and which work best when connected to the piece of kit they were modified for.

Set 1 were originally wired to work with Jon's PP9 battery box:

but Chris had to rewire them to work with his CA-9100 preamp.

Set 2 is wired to work with a custom battery box, which was built by a board member here.

Swapping mics around usually produces sub-standard recordings, but used with whatever they were modded for, they work great.
UK based taper: MK4>Nbox Platinum>PCM-M10
AT853C>CA9200 / PIPsqueak>Tascam DR-2D
