Thanks very much for this review, particularly for the noise about a fall release of a cardioid minimic.  I have written Peluso to try to get some preliminary info on this, no response back yet.

I also wrote DPA about their plans.  I use the 4060s, and would love a cardioid version.  The 4088s they introduced earlier this year have an extreme proximity effect compensation, since they are meant to pick up sounds an inch or two from their placement, and the bass roll off makes them unusable for location taping.  DPA hopes to have more info in October about the first of a new series of cardioid minis.  They caution that all cardioids roll off bass at a distance, even the 4011s, believe me if the new mics can even be roughly compared to the 4011 I'll die of happiness.
