The SD Association has announced a new card spec dubbed SDXC (eXtended Capacity) that can support memory capacities up to 2TB with read/write speeds to 104MB per second.

Next up: dap (digital audio player) companies coming up with more efficient internal batteries so we can get 20+ hrs on flac/wav playback.

I just purchased a Cowon iAudio 7 player that can theoretically get from 50-60 hours playback on internals. Cnet tested it and came up with around 30 hours under more realistic conditions. Even at 30 hours, it's great.

My ipod classic 160gb gets between 20 and 30 hours now. It's awesome!

Wow! Say goodbye to the PC/Mac Harddrive. The SDXC will just wipe out that market. My guess: HDs will be extinct within 2 years, like an 8 track player.
