(sorry if this is the wrong forum - couldn't think where else to put it!! <grovels to Brian in the hope of escaping chastisement, or at the very least a quiet grumble>)
Anybody out there who might like to try their hand at stealthing a show? Gig is FREE (gratis, no money) as part of the
Artscape Festival in Baltimore, which is pretty fun in and of itself (art, jewellery, LOTS of bands, good street food etc - tons of stuff
www.artscape.org)
Shows at 2p and 5p Saturday and Sunday 22nd/23rd at the Maryland Institute of Art's Brown Center (the big glass building)
Show is "The Medium", about a fraudulent Medium who hits the bottle and goes spectacularly nuts with tragic results when she thinks she encounters a real ghost. Performed by professional opera singers with piano accompaniment, presented by the Baltimore Opera Company. We're in rehearsals now and it's shaping up to be a great little melodrama - the production is going for pretty spooky, at least hints at a whole lotta sex, booze and weirdness going on behind the scenes, and the not-typical "opera" music is likely to have broad appeal - (sounds more like movie music than grand opera - just to reassure those who may be a little operaphobic!).
PM me if you think you might get there!
