So, if I'm using flac files, does it first unpack the flacs to wav, then use that to make the AUIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders, then create the ISO image?  If that's the case, I guess you'd need approximately 1/2 the size of the flacs, plus twice the size of the resulting image.

Man, I need to get some of my video projects archived properly so that I have some room.  It sounds like you really need about 12 G free in order to compile a full 4.7 G DVD if the source is flac, 10 G if the source is wav.

I don't think that's the case.  I think the program can create the .AOB files (in the AUDIO_TS folder) directly from the FLAC files, without having to create the .WAV files first.  So, for a 4.7 GB disc, you'd still only need twice that free.

I think the DVD-A format supports 5.1 surround. Will this program do 5.1 surround?  If so, how does that work?  (Sorry if this is another newb question.)

Thanks, Scott.  I figured that would be the answer, but I had to ask.  +T

Are there any group size limitations? A couple of times I put a whole show (~2hrs) in one group and it stopps playing after track 09...could be a playback issue...now I just throw 9 tracks in Group 1 and the remainder in Group 2...blank DVD's are so cheap now I have no problem throwing an entire show on one disc for playback, even though the other half of the disc is unused....+T to scott!

ps: I would love to see a size warning (entire disc or even group if applicable) pop up as well if possible

99 tracks per group is the only limit on number of files.  i've got a ton of discs with 20+ tracks in 1 group and they're fine...

It's a samsung (I don't have the model # with me) that supports nearly everything  DVD-A, SACD, MP3, CD, DVD, etc...I assume the gap is in the image as I just mount the image using Scott's program and then burn the image with Nero to DVD...

Samsung HD-841...that is the unit I had and it plays all DVD-As back with gaps...it is a buffer issue with those units.  Also exists with the Toshiba 4960 (same unit, just rebranded)

So I go through all the trouble of burning the DVD-A and get gapson playback.  I have a Samsung HD-845, so I'm guessing I have the same probelm as other Samsund units.  So I'm looking for reccomendations on a DVD player with DVD-A gapless playback support on a pretty tight budget.  Here's a link to my post in the playback forum.  +T again to everyone for the help with the 24 bit learning curve.  This place kicks hiney!!

I also get gaps on playback with my Samsung HD841, but another member here (Teddy) says that he does not get such gaps with exactly the same model of player.  Are DVD-A audio files supposed to be tracked at integer multiples of 1/75th of a second (multiples of 588 samples) like CDs are supposed to be?  Or could this be because of the sample rate used?  (My attempts have been with files that are 44.1 kHz, tracked at integer multiples of 588 samples.)  I'm wondering whether phanophish's (and my) problems are due to the deck or whether they are due to the source material?
