Been looking at some tapes on Ebay. Seems like you can get some good deals on tapes that have only been used once. Just curious how reuse effects quality.

its not the best idea in the world, though ive done it in the studio for backups. dont know that id do it if it was my primary copy

i do it cause im 16 and have no money at all. I do notice a slight change in quality after about the 3rd time. but the first and second time you can't tell at all.

if you cant pull together 4 bucks to tape the shows (price of 2 dats) then i dunno what to tell ya
-
Nothing wrong with trying to save money.

I have done it before when patching my D8, and had lots of problems with dropouts and digi-zaps on the retread tapes. (usually sony DG, back in 1999, 2000). I stopped reusing tapes due to this.

yah but you are destroying your masters.

Not destroying my Masters. Just looking at some 'one-run' tapes on Ebay. I only intend to use them once.

well im not going to spend $4 on DATs that cost about $5 to ship. Not to mention that i have to use my mom's credit card to buy them. I wait till i have enough then buy about 25 or so.
